ChiGivesBack Hosts 5th Annual Friendsgiving Dinner

ChiGivesback, Inc. in partnership with the Breakthrough Family Plex Friendsgiving hosted a community dinner for over 250 persons. Friendsgiving has provided meals holiday meals to families living in Englewood and on the Westside of Chicago. CGB partnered with Chef James of Fuze Catering and community organizations to bring catered meal to families living in Austin and Garfield Park.

Friendsgiving featured live entertainment and also provide coats and shoes donated by the Columbia Coat Company. The evening honored Nicole White and Jaqueline Dillard — former and current principal of Tanner Elementary School, respectively — for their leadership and commitment to building a better Chicago.

As a part of the organizations ChefsGivesBack initiative, a program designed to fight food insecurity, ChiGivesBack also partnered with the TAO Restaurant to deliver 150 holiday meals directly to the homes of families who were nominated to receive them by members of the local community.
