Random Acts of Kindness

At ChiGivesBack, we believe that kindness knows no bounds, and everyone deserves to experience the joy of unexpected generosity. That's why we launched our "Random Acts of Kindness" initiative in 2020, a heartwarming program designed to spread love and support to individuals who may not meet the specific criteria for other initiatives.

ChiGivesBack partnered with the Bleacher Report and Showtime Networks to surprise 20 CPS students attending Robert A. Black Magnet Elementary School with brand new Jordan shoes.

At this event, we hosted a dinner and mentorship talk at the Chicago Jordan Brand Store to encourage students to pursue academic success and engage in community service.

  • $1000 College Scholarship to Dunbar Vocational Career Academy (CPS) Student

  • $500 Scholarship to Chicago Public School Student attending Stanford

  • (8) laptops and (2) tablets donated to CPS students 

  • $3,000 Scholarship to CGB Holiday Volunteer Shirt Designer for Morehouse College

Healthcare and Hospitality Professionals

  • $500 stipends to 5 front line healthcare professionals

  • $7,500 microgrants to 75 displaced hospitality workers

Lyft Partnership

  • $40,000 in free Lyft Codes to support low-income families, essential workers, healthcare professionals, and DCFS teens and families.

  • Lyft Up: A Solidarity Ride for Justice - 400 people in attendance

  • Voting- Free and discounted codes to voting sites

  • Vaccine Access Program - $10,000 to date in free rides to vaccine sites

Partnered with Sip & Savor, Chicago French Press, Bureau Bar and Roti Mediterranean Grill to provide cups of coffee and lunches for first responders, police officers, and volunteers

PepsiCo Partnership

  • Donated Gatorade to Urban Prep Charter School - Bronzeville Campus’ football team for the entire season.
